Wedding in the Country

Weddings are an important milestone in our lives. The following is provided to anticipate and answer as many questions that may arise in choosing Irricana United Church as your wedding venue.

  1. RESERVE THE DATE
    One of the first steps in wedding planning is to reserve the date. In order to book your wedding at Irricana United Church, you need to complete the our Lease agreement.
  2. LEASE AGREEMENT
    A Lease Agreement must be signed in order to use the church. The church also has its own registry book that we request you sign as well during the ceremony.
  3. MARRIAGE LICENSE
    All persons wishing to be married in the province of Alberta must have a valid marriage license issued by the Government of Alberta.
  4. CHURCH AMENITIES
    The main and basement floors are mobility accessible. There is one uni-sex washroom in the basement. There is also a balcony which overlooks the sanctuary. A sound system is available for your use.

WHAT ABOUT REHEARSALS
You must determine your rehearsal time for the lease agreement well in advance to ensure that a Wedding Coordinator can be booked . Rehearsals usually take a couple of hours and are scheduled close to the wedding date. 

WHAT HAPPENS ON THE DAY OF THE WEDDING
The Wedding Coordinator will be available to open the church approximately one hour prior and your guests are encouraged to come at least one half hour before the ceremony begins. If requested, time will be dedicated to taking photos either inside or outside.
