Irricana Missions & Charities

Many of our selected missions & fundraisers are generated by local need and personal experiences. Projects are selected each year at our AGM. Although we are a small congregation, we endeavour to make a difference in our local and surrounding communities. Donations and support are gratefully accepted from all!

RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE

Community members knit over 70 pairs (and counting) of slippers for donation to families at Ronald McDonald House.  Those who do not knit donated wool!

SOAP FOR HOPE

Soap for Hope is a non-profit organization that partners with Disaster Aid Canada.  They recycle hygiene amenities (soap, shampoo), linens and tissue products and their mission is to divert landfill waste and provide hygiene essentials to people in need. We have bins set up to accept ongoing donations.

PARKINSON ASSOCIATION OF ALBERTA

For the past couple of years, our church has held an informative Parkinson’s service and walk to raise funds for the Parkinison’s Association of Alberta.  Even under Covid registrictions, we still managed to raise over $1000.

IRRICANA FOOD BANK
Our Church collects non-perishable food items and cash donations for the local food banks on an on-going basis.

CANADIAN FOODGRAINS BANK

We are a rural church in the midst of a farming community. We are proud supporters of the Canadian Foodgrains Bank. Each year a service is dedicated to informing and raising funds for CFB. This year over $5000 was raised.
Canadian Foodgrains Bank is a partnership of 15 Canadian churches and church-based agencies working together to end global hunger. We work with locally based organizations in developing countries to meet emergency food needs, achieve long-term solutions to hunger and work to foster informed action by Canadians and governments to support this international cause.

During the year, we collect clothing, financial donations and auction items for the following organizations:
