I’m here, now what

Welcome to Irricana United. Here you’ll find a warm community of faith, with a genuine desire to connect with you, no matter where you are on your spiritual journey.
We know that attending a new place of worship, especially if you are not a regular church attendee, can be a little daunting. Here are a few items that might make your experience comfortable and enjoyable!
Our hope is that our church can offer you a sense of community, friendship and a place for learning and growth. We look forward to seeing you soon!

ORDER OF SERVICES

  • Our services are held each Sunday from 10:30 am until 11:30.
  • Service usually begin with the Minister welcoming everyone followed by announcements and singing.
  • Although the order of our services may change from one week to another, singing, readings and prayer are always included

MUSIC

Music is an important part of worship. Along with our regular hymnals, we often are blessed with offerings from various members of our congregation and community members. If you are gifted in the areas of music, both playing an instrument or singing, we would love to hear from you.

COMMUNION

Communion—also called the Lord’s Supper, Eucharist, or Holy Communion—is a Christian act of worship where believers eat small pieces of bread and drink wine (or grape juice) to remember the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. It is designed to be a physical reminder of a spiritual truth, instituted by Jesus at his final meal with his disciples before his crucifixion. We have an “Open Table” policy, meaning anyone who wishes to partake may do so. Communion is served on the third Sunday of each month.

What to expect:

  1. Preparation: Participants often take a moment to reflect on their lives and ask for forgiveness, ensuring they approach the table with a clean heart.
  2. Partaking: People eat a small piece of bread (or a wafer) and drink a small amount of wine/juice.
  3. Reflection: It is a time for gratitude and quiet reflection, focusing on Jesus’ love and sacrifice.
